- You need 1 of Lau/ ridged gourd medium.
- You need 200 g of kuccho chingri/ small shrimps.
- Prepare 2-3 of green chillies.
- It's 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder.
- It's 1 tsp of Cumin powder.
- Prepare 1 tsp of ghee.
- Prepare to taste of Salt.
- You need to taste of Sugar.

Lau chingri/ shrimp with ridged gourd instructions
- Chopped the ridge gourd as thin possible. Shrimps shell out and cleaned..
- Marinate shrimps and ridge gourd separately with salt and turmeric and keep aside..
- After 10-15 mins ridge gourd leaves water.. so strained water by hands just pressing softly with palm..
- Saute prawn with little oil and keep aside..
- In same pan put remaining oil, add tempering except ginger, when cumin makes crakling sound add ginger along with ridge gourd and cumin powder. Cook medium to low flame untill ridge gourd cooked. Do not put water as ridge gourd leaves water and cooking with it's own water. Add shrimps and stir for some minute in high flame. Add salt if required. Add sugar and ghee closed the lid..
- Serve hot with steam rice..
A Bengali speciality - prawns cooked with bottle gourd. Add shrimps and fry them a little bit. Add green chillies and gourd pieces. Stir everything together and mix well. Cover with lid and cook until the gourd pieces softens.
