- Pour a measured amount of mixture onto the pan..and let it cook until golden brown.
- Turn after the top dries and let the other part cook.
- Let it cool then serve.
I don't know if the Queen used salted butter or not. Her recipe doesn't call for it, but since I use. Do you call them drop scones or Scotch pancakes? Whatever you call them, Mary Berry has got this classic recipe down perfectly. Spelt flour gives these drop scones a lovely nuttiness.
